Valve Guide Restoration
The Groovemaster System of valve Guide Grooving is the only truly innovative restoration method available to correct guide wear. Our unique re-sizing "wheel" system can rebuild guides with .001" to .025" wear. Provides selective rebuilding not possible with alternative methods. Allows custom fitting of stem-to-guide clearances on new or worn guides.

Simply put, the "GROOVEMASTER" system will not only eliminate existing wear in the old guide, but will actually improve the integrity of the valve train and significantly increase the guides effective life. Heat transfer from the valve is improved, valve "Flutter" is eliminated, and manifold vacuum is increased. These corrections and improvements result in more power, smoother performance, and an increase in fuel economy.

It is not possible here, to detail the functions and intricacies of the valve train, nor are we able to fully explain the technicalities involved in the "Groovemaster" system with its numerous attendant improvements. However, the following is a brief overview: We have adopted the engineering principle of "Cold Flowing" and employ a specially designed arbor and wheel which is run down the worn guide. This upsets the metal of the guide, reduces the internal diameter, and forms a series of lands and grooves. The lands are then "Plateaued" with a special reamer and become multiple bearing and aligning surfaces for the valve stem. The grooves become a series of oil retaining "O" rings or reservoirs which individually lubricate the valve stem for its entire length.
